There’s not a heap of down time over here in Arizona, so a recent day off gave everyone a chance to explore and do their own thing.

The majority of us ducked down to the Flagstaff mall to do a bit of shopping, although we didn’t really stay there for too long – maybe an hour or so.

When we got back to NAU (North Arizona University), a few of us decided to go and shoot some hoops down at the health centre.

We started out with about 10 of us playing against each other – five on five – but then decided to ask a few of the Americans who were playing there if they were up for a game.

I think we ended up playing against three different teams, and we ‘schooled’ all of them.

It was myself, Stef Martin, Jordy Lisle, Rohan Bewick, and Mitch Golby – and Blacky even chipped in for a little bit.

We have some pretty handy basketballers at the Club, so it was good fun to give the locals a bit of a touch up.

Stef and Jordy were probably the standouts. They’ve both played before so were pretty hard to stop.

I wasn’t too bad and did OK, although I was taking my game to behind the arc and shooting threes rather than playing my role.

Our skills weren’t quite as good as theirs, but we all had the size and athleticism over them and sort of bullied our way through the game I guess.
