Fox Footy are dedicating Round 20 of the AFL Season to the valuable contribution all left-footers have made to our great game.

Those who regularly watch Fox Footy would have no doubt already witnessed some of the entertaining testimonials from players across the League who are thrilled that ‘lefties’ are finally getting the recognition they deserve.

The Lions have had their fair share of famous left-footers over the journey, with Simon Black and Daniel Rich arguably the most recognisable southpaws currently at the Club.

Mitch Golby is another proud ‘lefty’, but unfortunately won’t get the chance to be part of the first ever ‘Lefties Round’ due to his one-match suspension.

“Gutted no to be running out with the boys this weekend. Especially because its #leftyround #leftfootersdoitbetter,” Golby Tweeted.

Daniel Merrett also flocked to Twitter to express his desire to be a ‘lefty’.

“I wish I was a left footer.... Left footers just look better when they kick it. #leftyround #foxfooty,” Merrett Tweeted.

Jonathan Brown probably doesn’t qualify as a ‘lefty’ due to the fact that he kicks the football with his right foot.

However, the Lions Co-Captain writes left-handed, handballs left-handed, and fancies himself as a left-arm fast bowler in the summer season.
