With a record number of members now supporting the Lions and huge demand expected again in 2027, the change is designed to help the Club get as many members and supporters as possible into the Gabba each week, while providing greater certainty around attendance and ticket allocation.

The changes will only impact 2,300 seats per match and are a response to ever-increasing demand for access.

Six Lions home games were already fully ticketed this season due to high demand from members.

Under the new arrangements, the club has frozen General Admission (GA) Membership prices for 2027 (11 x game GA is $200 and 3 x game GA is $93) and reduced the seat reserve cost from $15 to $5 per game.

Brisbane Lions, General Manager Consumer and Commercial, Adam Spackman said the change was necessary in response to the extraordinary growth in demand for Lions games.

“Winning three consecutive premierships has created enormous momentum around the Club and significant demand for tickets, but the Gabba’s capacity remains fixed,” he said.

“Our objective is simple. We want to get as many Lions members and supporters into the venue as possible every week, with a fair process and greater certainty of a seat.

“To do that effectively, we need a clearer picture of attendance before each game so we can allocate the available tickets. That means moving away from the traditional walk-up option for this membership category and making all our games fully ticketed.

“We understand this changes how GA members attend, so we’ve frozen their membership price and reduced seat upgrades to $5 per game.

“For a season GA member who attended all six fully ticketed games last year, the minimum upgrade cost was $90. In 2027, securing a seat across the full 11-game home season will only cost $55.

“Most importantly, once members have secured their ticket, they’ll have a reserved seat waiting for them rather than needing to arrive early and rely on walk-up availability and a risk of missing out.

“This also avoids a lock out scenario and fan disappointment which has happened on occasion in recent years.”

The Club will provide members with further information ahead of the 2027 season explaining the process for securing seats, including education ahead of member on-sales.
