A freakish match sealer in Round 9 of the 2021 AFLW competition has seen livewire forward Courtney Hodder take out the 2021 Yokayi Moment of the Year.

The piece of individual brilliance from Hodder midway through the final term was a highlight of the round, as Hodder appeared from nowhere 35m from goal to spoil what was certain to be a turnover.

The electric forward kept her feet to gather the footy and snapped a brilliant right foot goal from congestion to secure the win for the Lions.

The performance earnt the 21-year old the AFLW Goal of the Week and her first Rising Star nomination.

One of the league’s most dangerous small forwards, Hodder already possesses an enviable highlight reel, including 2021 AFLW Goal of the Year with a long-range stunner in Round 9.

Hodder had two nominations in the fan-voted Yokayi Moment of the Year competition, with her dazzling first quarter goal against GWS in Round 6 making an appearance alongside her Round 9 piece of brilliance.
