A 28-strong Lions squad will face the Gold Coast Suns in a Queensland derby practice match at Leyshon Park this evening.

The practice match, which is open to the public, will be Lions’ fans first opportunity to see the defending Premiers in action since their historic win in April.

For those unable to attend in person, the match will be livestreamed through lions.com.au

Brisbane Lions Head of Women’s Football, Breeanna Brock said the Club is looking forward to having the two Queensland teams together at the home of AFL Queensland.

“These matches always give us a good insight into how we are travelling,”

“We’re only a few weeks away from the start of the season, so for us, tonight is great opportunity to see where we are at before Round 1.”

Friday’s match will also be Bre Koenen’s first time leading the Lions out onto the park, after she was named Captain in November.
