Brisbane Lions defender Keidean Coleman is set to make his return to football more than 12 months after rupturing his ACL.

Coleman suffered the injury to his left knee in the second quarter of last year’s Opening Round match against Carlton, which saw him miss the rest of the season.

After experiencing some minor setbacks along the way, the 25-year-old has been training strongly in recent weeks.

Coleman was confirmed available for selection following Tuesday’s training session at Brighton Homes Arena, with the defender likely to play VFL.

Fellow defender Jack Payne is also available for selection after being a late out of last week’s win over St Kilda due to illness.

The Lions will wait until later in the week before making a call on exciting young forward Kai Lohmann ahead of Sunday’s QClash with the Gold Coast SUNS.

Lohmann was subbed out against the Saints due to a shoulder injury, though scans on Monday cleared the forward who is a test to play.

Emerging ruck-forward Henry Smith will however be sidelined for up to10 weeks with a stress fracture in his right foot.

While under concussion protocols following the Lions Round 4 win over Collingwood, Smith was sent for scans on his foot after experiencing soreness.

Utility Bruce Reville continues to increase his running as he recovers from a hamstring strain and is expected to return in approximately two to three weeks.
