Brisbane Lions AFLW ruck, Eleanor Hartill will remain at Brighton Homes Arena until the end of 2026 after signing a one-year contract extension.
The 25-year-old ruck, who was signed prior to the 2024 season after spending two years with the West Coast Eagles, played 13 games in her first year as a Lion including all three finals.
Hartill who joined forces with fellow ruck Tahlia Hickie last season to give the Lions another tall target, either forward or behind the ball said she was looking forward to the season starting.
“It is such an honour to re-sign with Brisbane until the end of 2026,” Hartill said.
“In my first year last year the club as well as the girls allowed me to grow and develop as a footballer on and off the field.
“They helped me understand what is required to be successful and achieve results whether that be in the gym, on the field or in life.
“I’m surrounded by so many inspirational women who build each other up and celebrate each other’s wins.
“I am looking forward to seeing what our group can achieve in the next two seasons, and feel honoured to be apart of that journey.”
AFLW senior coach, Craig Starcevich, said that Hartill has formed a nice partnership with Hickie in her short time at the Club, one he is looking forward to seeing develop.
“We’re excited to have Eleanor commit to the Club for a further season,” he said.
“She has become a really important part of the way we set up and her versatility allows us to use her in multiple positions. As a ruck combination, her style complements Tahlia’s.
“Having come over from Perth prior to last season, she has fit into our culture really well and I’m looking forward to her continued development across at least the next two seasons.”
