Brisbane Lions young gun Levi Ashcroft will remain with the Club until at least 2030 after inking a new three-year contract extension.

The new deal caps of a memorable debut season for the 18-year-old which saw him became a Lions premiership player.

Taken with Pick 5 in the 2024 draft as a father-son selection, Ashcroft played every game this season - including all four finals.

Ashcroft said despite already being contracted until the end of 2027, he wanted nothing more than to remain a Lion long term.

“Being drafted last year was a dream come true but to be able to commit to the club for a further term is satisfying,” Ashcroft said.

“I am grateful that the Club values me, and I can lock in for the next five years to do my bit in keeping the club at the top.

“We have such a great balance of experienced players and young players coming through, and I love playing with this group.

“I would like to thank the Club and my management for having faith in me and I hope I can continue to make them and my family proud on and off the field over the next five years as a Brisbane Lions player.”

While still trying to let his debut season to remember sink in, Ashcroft revealed he is already working to build on his game ahead of 2026.

This year’s premiership continued an incredible run of grand final wins for the talented teenager who won three consecutive flags for the Sandringham Dragons before being drafted.

Yet the young Lion is still hungry to do everything he can to help the Club experience more success in the coming years.

“It’s still surreal to think my first year played out the way it did,” Ashcroft said.

“I am so grateful to be at this Club and be able to contribute my part to the success this year.

“We are a special group, and I have been made to feel really comfortable at the club and we are not going to stop at what we achieved this year.

“We have enjoyed the celebrations, but focus turns to making sure I continue to improve and get the best out of myself this pre-season to go again even stronger in 2026 and hopefully for many more years to come.”

Brisbane Lions List Manager Dom Ambrogio said having Ashcroft commit long term was very exciting.

“The Club is thrilled to have Levi extend to the end of 2030, as we see him being a really important part of our future,” Ambrogio said.

“We knew when we drafted Levi that he was an exceptional young talent, and he showed in his first season of AFL what he is capable of.

“Levi is also an extremely driven and professional 18-year-old, and we look forward to watching him continue to develop his game.”
