The Brisbane Lions confirm defender Jack Payne has undergone surgery on Monday on his left knee.
The 26-year-old, who ruptured his patellar tendon last season in Round 14 against GWS, had experienced pain during his rehabilitation with further assessment confirming surgery was required.
A timeframe for Payne’s return to play will be determined in consultation with his surgeon and club medical team over the coming weeks.
The club will provide a further update when more information becomes available.
