The Brisbane Lions are thrilled to announce four of their exciting young AFLW talents have extended their time at Brighton Homes Arena.

Charlie Mullins has extended until the end of 2028, with Irish recruit Neasa Dooley and 2024 draftee Claudia Wright remaining Lions for the next two seasons.

While winger Sophie Peters has also re-signed with the club for 2026 after playing three games last season.

Coach Craig Starcevich said it was a great endorsement for the club’s AFLW program to see the talented quartet re-commit.

“It is an exciting time for the football club, and we see these four players as each having a key role to play in our future success,” Starcevich said

“Each of them has really bought into what we are trying to achieve as a group, and we are looking forward to seeing them work hard to continue improving their football.”

Mullins, who was drafted in 2022 leading into Season 7, has enjoyed three strong seasons since making her debut.

The 21-year-old is building her reputation as a highly skilled, smooth mover whose clever ball use puts her teammates in positions to score, if she isn’t impacting the scoreboard herself.

Dooley, who booted two goals on debut against Fremantle in Round 2 last season, solidified her spot in Starcevich’s side playing every game after.

Playing across half-forward, the Kildare native made an instant impact at AFLW level with her speed and athleticism.

“Charlie has had an incredible start to her career having almost notched up 50 games and played in three Grand Finals over her first four years on the list,” Starcevich said.

“She’s a player of high footy IQ and having a bigger impact on our game style each year. We’re very excited to see her continue to develop with us over the next few seasons.

“Neasa made a very quick transition from Gaelic football last season and became one of our most exciting front half players.

“She has a great appetite to keep learning and, with her attributes, we’re sure her growth as a player will continue.”

Fellow 2025 debutant Wright played two games last season, including her debut against Essendon in Round 10.

The medium defender, drafted at Pick 16, has competed well in the air and used her classy right foot to full effect in her two games at AFLW level.

Peters, a Youi Lions Academy graduate who made her debut in 2023 against the Western Bulldogs, added three games to her tally in 2025.

Playing predominately as a hard-running winger, the 21-year-old was deployed at half-back throughout the year as she continues to add strings to her bow.

“Claudia has made great progress in her first season having moved across the country when drafted,” Starcevich said.

“She’s very composed and highly skilled and looked comfortable after debuting last year.

“We’re glad she accepted our offer to extend because we think she’s got a lot to offer in a variety of roles.

“Soph is a former Academy player who has always had an impact when given an opportunity over the last two seasons.

“She’s a strong competitor, and we’re sure this extension will drive her to lock in a more permanent role.”
