In this week’s TBT we revisit Round 16 of 2007 when Jonathan Brown kicked 10 goals to break the Brisbane Bears/Lions record.

The Lions had a strong hold over Carlton at the Gabba in front of a big home crowd, leading by 29 points at the main break and going on to win the match by a whopping 117 points.

Brown’s performance earned the Lions' centre half forward maximum Brownlow votes. He finished with 77 goals in the season and took out the Coleman Medal for the competition’s leading goal-kicker.

Fitzroy’s Bob Merrick holds the all-time most-goals-in-a-match record for the Club after his 12-goal effort against Melbourne in Round 16, 1919.

‘Superboot’ Bernie Quinlan kicked 116 goals for Fitzroy in the 1983 season - a Club record which still stands today.
