Cody Curtin, selected with Pick 43 in the 2025 draft from Western Australia, was already contracted for next season but has wasted no time extending until the end of 2029.
While 23-year-old Henry Smith, taken with Pick 48 in the 2020 NAB AFL Draft from Woodville-West Torrens in the SANFL, stays a Lion until the end of 2028.
Brisbane Lions General Manager Football, Danny Daly said it was great to have the pair remaining at Brighton Homes Arena.
“It’s fantastic to have both Cody and Henry commit to the club for a further two years and it is a great reward for the hard work put in by both players,” Daly said.
“Henry has displayed plenty of resilience dealing with some injury interrupted seasons while showing what he is capable of in his six games at AFL level.
“And it’s a real credit to Cody to make his AFL debut in his first season and we’re excited by what we have seen from him so far.
“Not only do we look forward to having Cody and Henry remaining part of our future, but we are also pleased to have their families staying at the Brisbane Lions.”
Smith, who stands at a towering 207-centimetres, said he feels privileged to re-sign and grateful to the Lions for continuing to invest in his development.
“I love coming into a successful club surrounded by people who genuinely want to see you succeed - which inspires me to strive to be the best I can be,” Smith said.
“We’ve got a young group with a really exciting future ahead, and I’m determined to play a big part of what this group can continue to achieve together.
“Over the coming years I want to repay the club’s faith by playing consistent, impactful football and contributing to success on the field.
“I’d love to show the footy world what I can do when I’m playing my best.”
Curtin, a fellow tall standing at 200 centimetres who can play key forward, defender and ruck said he looked forward to being a Brisbane Lion for another two years.
“I am so excited to re-sign and to be a part of this club for another two years is an opportunity I will be forever grateful for,” Curtin said.
“Re-signing was a no brainer for me because the environment and culture the club has created made me, I feel at home here right away and like I was taken in as family instantly.
“I will use these extra years to try my best to help the club in any way I can and hopefully that is helping the team to the ultimate success.”
