LAST TIME THEY MET
Daniel Merrett led the Brisbane Lions attack, kicking a career-high seven goals, when the Lions first met Greater Western Sydney in Round 8 last year.

Merrett kicked five of his seven goals in the first quarter, setting up a 92-point victory in the Club’s first ever battle with the Giants. But he wasn’t alone with Jonathan Brown (five goals) and Tom Rockliff (three goals) also joining the party with multiple goals.

The win ended a three-game losing streak for the Lions who dominated the Giants right across the field. Daniel Rich, Jack Redden and Simon Black were superb in the midfield, with the Lions topping the contested positions, 141-116.
