The Perth import joins the Lions from South Fremantle Football Club, replacing 2025 draftee Caitlin Kennedy, who will miss this season with an ACL injury.
Brisbane Lions senior coach, Craig Starcevich said he is pleased to welcome Evans to the group.
"Formerly a talented netballer, Madi is an athletic intercepting half back at the moment but, with her run and overhead marking, we think she could play wing or half forward also," Starcevich said.
"She’ll return home this weekend to farewell her South Fremantle teammates, and we look forward to having her back full time from next week."
Evans spent three days this week training with the squad.
"The sessions this week were hard but a lot of fun, it made me really excited for what could be," Evans said.
"To come into such an incredible team who have recently won a premiership, you know the girls are experienced, so I'm excited to learn from them."
The 2026 NAB AFLW season kicks off in less than three weeks, with Brisbane taking on Essendon at Windy Hill on Sunday, August 16.
