Sabrina Frederick-Traub dubbed “The Queen” by Lions AFLW faithful has remained loyal to the Club and signed on for the 2019 season.

The 22-year-old was one of the Club’s inaugural marquee players and is looking forward to her third season.

“The Lions have played a massive part in me being the person I am now. I came to the Club when I was 19 years old that’s the point in time where you become a woman,” Frederick-Traub told lions.com.au.

“So for me to now extend, I’m almost 22, I’ve had a massive growth at this Club.”

Born in the United Kingdom, Frederick-Traub never thought she would become a professional footy player but now can’t imagine a life without it.

“Every time someone asks me what the game means to me I get a bit teary, just because it’s so dear to my heart,” she said.

“Everything that I do in my life revolves around footy.”

Frederick-Traub works for AFL Queensland proudly promoting the game each day and on field is just as passionate.

In the 2018 season she finished top of the ladder for contested marks and score involvements and kicked eight goals in the forward line.

Lions Women’s CEO Breeanna Brock says the Club has enjoyed watching her development as one of the league’s strongest forwards.

“We’ve seen Sabrina grow so much as a person and a player,” Brock said.

“We can’t wait to see what she will bring both on and off field in her third year.”

In further exciting news, the Lions have retained former tennis ace Krystal Scott for a second year at the Club.

Scott was a rookie in her first season but will have full playing rights in 2019.

“Krystal showed great development in her first season at the Club. Her positive energy and enthusiasm was a boost for the playing group. We look forward to what she will bring in her second season,” Brock said.

The Lions AFLW side will have their first training session for the upcoming Winter Series tonight at Yeronga.
