With Brisbane down to just 18 players, Clark was helped from the ground with blood pouring from a cut to his head.
But after performing a series of tests for concussion and taping the wound, Lions club doctor Paul McConnell allowed Clark to return to the ground, a move that was queried by several commentators the following morning.
But AFL football operations manager Adrian Anderson told afl.com.au on Monday that an investigation by League medical commissioner Harry Unglik determined that the Lions followed all the right procedures and confirmed that while Clark was dazed, he wasn't concussed.
"This is where we rely on the medical experts, not those who profess to be medical experts watching on TV,” Anderson told afl.com.au.
"Brisbane's doctor is highly qualified and highly respected and he put Clark through all the medical tests. And Harry Unglik has confirmed with us that this was the case."
"There are a number of cases through the course of the season where a player can have the staggers and might be dazed. Sometimes they're concussed and sometimes they’re not."
