Conor McKenna returned to the AFL in 2023 after spending three years back home in Ireland through the COVID pandemic. After initially signing a one-year deal, McKenna played every game for the Lions last season after playing 79 for Essendon from 2015 to 2020. Another dashing half-back, McKenna provides plenty of spark out of the Lions defence and uses his skills both by hand and foot to great effect. A key player for Brisbane in the back half, McKenna and Coleman across the half-back flanks created a headache for oppositions on both the offensive and defensive side of the contest.
