The Brisbane Lions are pleased to announce the commencement of Sam Graham as the club’s new Chief Executive Officer.
Sam’s appointment was announced on 2 June following long term CEO, Greg Swann’s transition to the AFL as Executive General Manager, Football Performance.
Sam, who has been the Lions Chief Operating Officer since November 2023, said he was honoured to take the reins at the club.
“On a personal note, I’m very humbled to take on this role and am excited to lead the Club through its next phase of growth.
“I’d like to thank Greg and his wife Leonie for their massive contribution in transforming the Lions over the past eleven years. It’s been great working closely with Greg over the past 18 months and I wish him well for the next phase of his career at the AFL.
“From my point of view, we have a great team in place both on and off the field so it will very much be business as usual moving forward.
“Our men’s team is well placed for another September charge, the W squad are one month out from the season opening and have been training the house down.
“Over the coming months our focus will remain on supporting both programs, selling out home matches at the Gabba and Brighton Homes Arena and servicing our ever growing and loyal Membership base.”
Lions Chairman, Andrew Wellington, said the Board looked forward to continuing to work with Sam.
“We’ve been working closely with Sam for the past 18 months at the Lions, but much longer through his work across the AFL.
“This will be a seamless transition for everyone in and around the club.”
