Inaugural Lions AFLW coach Craig Starcevich is back for his fifth season as coach and he’s sporting a fresh new haircut thanks to the Club’s newest sponsor.

Starcevich and Irish import Orla O’Dwyer emerged from their mandatory 14 day quarantine following their return from Europe this week and straight into the Price Attack salon at Garden City to ensure they looked their best for the return to training.

The Lions are excited to announce Price Attack as a new co-major sponsor of our AFLW team.

The current deal runs for the next two seasons and Price Attack CEO John Pascoe said he hoped the partnership would continue for many years to come.

Mr Pascoe said as women’s sport continued to grow in Australia, Price Attack was proud to be sharing the AFLW journey.

“A recent survey showed 84 per cent of Australian sports fans are interested in women’s sport,” he said.

“These are remarkable and inspiring women who empower women with their ‘can do’ attitude.

“They are quick to meet with fans and share their individual stories, and are proving to be strong role models in the community.’’

Mr Pascoe said Price Attack was an Australian owned company with a commitment to empowering women.

“Whether this is by providing employment opportunities in a thriving business or styling their hair for the next Zoom meeting: we are about creating confidence and our brand shares the values associated with women’s sport: inspiring, progressive, equality, inclusive, resilient and good for well-being along,” he said.

Price Attack stocks Australia’s most popular professional hair care brands, including PPS, AG Hair, Nak, Juuce, Matrix, , Davroe, EVY, MUK , Redken, Wella, L’Oréal, De Lorenzo, Moroccanoil, Schwarzkopf, KMS, Goldwell, Paul Mitchell, Nioxin and many more.

Head of Women's Football Bree Brock said it was a great boost for the Club to have re-signed Starcevich and it was equally as exciting to partner with a company like Price Attack that championed the needs of Australian women.

“Supporting women’s sport is so important and we are thrilled to welcome Price Attack to the Lions family,” she said.

“We look forward to a great relationship and we encourage all members and supporters to visit their stores to buy some of their outstanding products.’’

After an off-season spent in Switzerland Starcevich said he couldn’t wait to get stuck into the pre-season and was looking forward to the year ahead.

“It’s great to be back, it’s great to see the girls again and even more exciting to welcome Price Attack,’’ he said.

“Our sponsors have always been part of the family at our Club and we really look forward to them joining us on our journey.’’

The Lions will enter 2021 with a new look coaching panel with former academy coach Phil Lovett joining as forwards coach. He replaces Daniel Merrett who has stood down to spend more time with his young family.

Brent Staker (defence) and Clark Keating (mids) return while Simon Black will work with the group on a part time basis as a stoppage coach.
