The Brisbane Lions VFL have gone down to Williamstown by 56 points at Brighton Homes Arena on Saturday afternoon.
The Seagulls lead at every change running out 21.10 (136) to 12.8 (80) winners.
Brandon Ryan made a strong return from his facial fracture booting three goals in his first game in four weeks.
Williamstown flew out of the blocks booting five of the first six goals to take an early lead.
Goals to Jack Manly, Jimmy Tunstill and Ryan kept the Lions within touch at the first break trailing by 24 points.
Seven goals in the first quarter were backed up by seven goals in the second as the Seagulls piled on 80 points in the opening half.
Manly and Ryan both booted their second majors as the Lions faced a 55-point deficit at the main break.
Daniel Annable impressed in his first game at VFL level with the Youi Lions Academy product racking up 17 touches and five clearances.
Luke Lloyd and Harry Arnold took 12 and 11 marks respectively to lead all-comers for the afternoon as the Lions defence endured a tough day defending 61 inside 50s.
After conceding the opening goal the Lions wrestled back momentum in the third term.
Fergus McFadyen, Conor McKenna and Sam Marshall all hitting the scoreboard while Ryan’s third brought the margin back to 36 points at three-quarter time.
An early Will McLachlan goal gave the Lions hope to start the fourth term but Williamstown responded by piling on the six of the next eight majors to take home the win.
The Lions will now turn their attention to GWS who travel to Brighton Homes Arena in Round 12 Smithy’s VFL action.
