Brisbane Lions off-season recruit Sam Draper is available for selection to face the Sydney Swans on Saturday night after overcoming a foot injury.
Draper, who arrived at the club as an unrestricted free agent in October last year, developed a low-level stress reaction in his foot during the pre-season.
The 205-centimetre ruckman has been training fully and on Tuesday was cleared to play against Sydney if selected.
It’s further good news on the injury front for the Lions with defender Tom Doedee closing in on a return.
Doedee, who has been sidelined with both a knee and wrist injury, could be available to play in as soon as one week.
As advised on Sunday, Lions Co-Captain Hugh McCluggage has a low-grade left calf strain which occurred during Saturday night’s clash with the Western Bulldogs.
McCluggage is expected to only miss this weekend’s match against Sydney, with the Lions having the bye next week.
