Brisbane Lions defender Jack Payne has moved another step closer to a return from injury after being included in the squad for Sunday’s clash with Adelaide.

Payne, who missed last Friday’s win over Melbourne with foot soreness, trained on Tuesday and Thursday this week to put his hand up for selection.

The key defender is joined in the squad alongside young midfielder James Tunstill and ruck-forward Darcy Fort who have both been in solid form in the VFL.

Tunstill and Fort are named on the extended interchange alongside Callum Ah Chee, Will Ashcroft, Jasper Fletcher, Bruce Reville, Darragh Joyce and Darcy Wilmot.

The Lions will on Friday confirm their final team to take on the Crows at the Gabba this Sunday. The first bounce is scheduled for 4:10pm.
