Team Announcement: Hipwood makes long-awaited return for game 200

Brisbane Lions premiership forward Eric Hipwood will play his first game since Round 23 last year, with the club naming him to take on Richmond in Tasmania on Sunday.

Hipwood’s first game back will be a double celebration, with Sunday’s clash being the Sunshine Coast local and Youi Brisbane Lions Academy graduate’s 200 AFL match.

The key forward is the only change made to the Lions team which defeated the Gold Coast Suns last weekend, with defender Darragh Joyce making way for him.

Hipwood is named to start on the interchange along with Jaspa Fletcher, Conor McKenna, James Tunstill and Shadeau Brain.

The Lions have listed Joyce, Luke Beecken and Sam Marshall as their three emergencies.

Sunday’s match is scheduled to start at 1:10pm and will be broadcast live on Fox Footy and Kayo.
