Because Pride is Within is the theme of the Lions’ 2013 campaign and is aimed at reaching out to the Club’s members and supporters on a deeper and much more personal level.
The feature of the campaign is a series of captivating and personalised stories that deliver the inner belief of players - and Senior Coach Michael Voss - direct from the locker room to the lounge room, all in the space of 60 seconds.
Existing Lions members were the first to get the opportunity to view the feature video stories that will be hosted on the Club’s dedicated membership website - membership.lions.com.au.
The emotive language used by the players and Voss was unscripted and came about during a series of interviews both inside and around the Lions’ den at the Hyundai Centre at the end of last season.
In the video featuring Jonathan Brown, the Lions skipper declares: “Because, at the end of the day, the fans are the footy club.”
Meanwhile, in the other videos, Simon Black, Daniel Rich, Dayne Zorko and Voss deliver their own, personal stories to Lions members and fans.

Lions CEO, Malcolm Holmes, said the entire Club was excited to launch the new campaign and urged existing members and fans of the Club to jump on board for 2013.
Holmes said the Club’s emphasis was on continuing to over-deliver for its members.
“Like our members, we’re proud of this Club and proud of this campaign and we are looking forward to an exciting 2013 AFL season,” said Holmes.
“Because Pride is Within is a campaign that allows the Lions to continue to build a deeper and much more personal connection with our members.
“Because Pop took me to my first game; Because Jonathan Brown is my hero; Because I love my footy and my team.
“We all have a reason ‘because’ and this will showcase the unique connection our players, coaches, members and fans have with the Brisbane Lions.
“As a Club, we demonstrated like never before a willingness to build a deeper and much more personal connection with our members in 2012, and that emphasis - particularly members’ functions and tours, exclusive events with players and the Vero coaching group, will continue into 2013.”
Membership options - including Coaches’ Club and Player Sponsorships - will continue to provide exclusive access for members both in Queensland and Victoria.
Membership has never been easier to renew or join, with the Club placing a continued focus on ease of purchase, highlighted by membership.lions.com.au and monthly membership payment plans.
Adult Lions memberships cost as little as $180 for every game at the Gabba or $75 for a three-game membership.
The Lions also offer Family, Concession, Youth, Junior and Supporter membership, with all details available at membership.lions.com.au.
The overall cost of a Victorian membership has also been reduced as a direct result of the AFL’s scheduling.
The Lions have been fixtured by the AFL to play five games in Victoria in 2013 despite lobbying hard for six.
Holmes said: “We will focus on over-delivering for our Victorian members, with membership packs to include entry to our NAB Cup game against Collingwood and an additional guest ticket, as well as all of the other benefits that come with being a Lions member.
“We understand they were rightfully disappointed by the AFL’s fixture.
“We want to ensure Victorian members feel like they are part of the Club so key events, like family day and Junior Member clinics, will be a highlight of 2013.
“More Victorian members jumping on board will mean a greater voice for the Club when we make any future fixture requests to the AFL.”
The Lions open the 2013 Premiership Season with a March 30 clash against the Western Bulldogs at Etihad Stadium in Melbourne.
They play their first game at the Gabba against Adelaide on April 6.
